What this service is

Garden Route Compass is a free, informational travel guide for the Garden Route, South Africa. It combines live and forecast weather with places to visit, stay, eat and explore. It is a planning aid — not a booking agent, tour operator or emergency service.

Weather & safety — please read

Weather data comes from third-party sources (Open-Meteo) and is provided “as is”. Forecasts and “best day” suggestions are estimates and can be wrong. Conditions on beaches, rivers, trails and at sea can change quickly and can be dangerous.

You are responsible for your own safety. Always check current local conditions, heed official warnings, lifeguards and signage, and use your own judgement before swimming, hiking, driving or taking part in any activity. We are not liable for decisions made based on information shown here.

Accuracy of listings

Listing information is gathered from public sources (including OpenStreetMap and Wikimedia Commons) and from businesses that submit their details. It may be incomplete or out of date. Always confirm important details — especially prices, opening hours and availability — directly with the business before travelling or booking.

Listing your business

If you submit a business listing, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the information you provide is accurate. You grant us permission to display and lightly edit that information. We may decline, edit, hide or remove any listing at our discretion.

Paid placement tiers are offered on an enquiry basis — there is no online payment on this site. We’ll contact you to arrange any upgrade, and only display a paid tier once it’s agreed.

Booking links & affiliates

Some pages link to third-party booking partners. We may earn a small commission if you book through certain links, at no extra cost to you. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, prices or services.

Intellectual property

Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors. Some photos are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under their respective licences. Our own branding, text and design remain ours. Please don’t copy or republish the site’s content without permission.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Garden Route Compass is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or any third-party site it links to.

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
